The Little Mermaid star and one-half of the dynamic duo Chloe x Halle is embarking on her solo music journey. On July 31, Halle revealed that her debut solo single, titled “Angel,” is set to be released on August 4.
In a touching teaser posted on Halle Bailey‘s YouTube channel and social media, viewers are treated to a heartfelt montage of childhood home videos and clips of recent solo performances. Set to a plaintive mid-tempo instrumental, the teaser leaves us eager to hear the full song. It concludes with the poignant quote, “Angels make a way somehow,” offering a glimpse into the possible themes and emotions of “Angel.”
This forthcoming track marks Halle Bailey‘s first unaccompanied original song. As part of Chloe x Halle, she has already achieved considerable success, with two entries on the Billboard 200 chart for their albums: “The Kids Are Alright” in 2018 (No. 139) and “Ungodly Hour” in 2020 (No. 16). Their hit single “Do It” also earned them a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 63.
