In a recent Instagram post, Britney Spears refutes claims surrounding her purported return to the studio for a new album. The pop, utilizing her verified account, dismissed the speculations alongside an iconic painting of Salome, stating, “Just so we’re clear, most of the news is trash!”
Contrary to reports suggesting she is collaborating with various artists on a new musical project, Britney Spears denies any intentions of reentering the music industry. In a caption accompanying her Instagram post, she states, “They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album… I will never return to the music industry! When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people!”
Having released her last full album, “Glory,” in 2016, which marked her ninth studio album, Spears has intermittently unveiled singles over the years. Notable among them are 2022’s “Hold Me Closer” with Elton John and last year’s “Mind Your Business” with Will.i.am.
Despite the apparent scarcity of her recent solo releases, Spears reveals in her Instagram post that she has maintained involvement in the industry as a “ghostwriter.” She discloses, “I’ve written over 20 songs for other people in the past two years. I’m a ghostwriter, and I honestly enjoy it that way!”
Spears refutes claims that her 2023 biography, “The Woman in Me,” was released without her approval, announcing that it is “far from the truth.” The singer clarifies that the release of the biography was not illegal.
