Britney Spears Says Sorry to Justin Timberlake for Upsetting Him with Details from Her Autobiography

Pop icon Britney Spears has taken to her social media platforms to extend a heartfelt apology to Justin Timberlake, expressing regret for any distress or offense caused by revelations in her recently released autobiography, ‘The Woman In Me.’ The 275-page memoir, unveiled in October, delves into Spears’ personal life, career, family dynamics, and her 13-year conservatorship.

In her memoir, Spears candidly discusses her complex relationship with singer Justin Timberlake, revealing intimate details, including her decision to have an abortion while dating the former *NSYNC star.

On Sunday evening (January 28), Spears posted on Instagram, stating, “I wanna apologize for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about, I am deeply sorry.” The apology accompanied a video of Timberlake featured in a recent segment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Spears also expressed admiration for Timberlake’s latest track, ‘Selfish,’ and his song ‘Sanctified.’

Following this post, the singer has made her Instagram account private. The memoir reflects on Spears’ relationship with Timberlake, which began when she was 17 years old. They dated from 1999, having met on the Mickey Mouse Club, until 2002. Spears disclosed in her memoir that the pregnancy was unexpected, and Timberlake’s reaction played a pivotal role in her decision to undergo an abortion.

For me, it wasn’t a tragedy. But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young,” Spears wrote. “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it.” She described the abortion as “one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.”

Despite the challenges, Spears and Timberlake remained together for two more years before their breakup. The memoir details the aftermath, with Spears recalling the media portraying her as “a harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy” when they parted ways.
