In a heartfelt Instagram post, Britney Spears has broken her silence to address the recent news of her divorce from husband Sam Asghari, whose birth name is Hesam Asghari. The artist shared a candid video of herself dancing to Janet Jackson‘s song “If,” along with a message expressing her feelings about the end of their 14-month marriage.
In her post, Britney Spears confirmed the separation, acknowledging that ending a six-year relationship with someone she’s been with for a considerable time was unexpected. She emphasized that while she’s not here to explain the reasons behind their split, she couldn’t bear the emotional pain any longer. Spears expressed her gratitude for the supportive messages from her friends and shed light on her family troubles, hinting at the complexities beneath her seemingly perfect social media facade.
The “Stronger” singer opened up about her struggles to show vulnerability and emotions, revealing that she has felt the need to hide her weaknesses for far too long. Despite projecting strength on Instagram, she acknowledged that her online presence doesn’t reflect the full reality of her experiences. Spears stressed the importance of unconditional love from family and the challenges she’s faced in that aspect.
Earlier reports indicated that Spears had enlisted renowned Hollywood divorce lawyer Laura Wasser, along with her longtime attorney Mathew Rosengart, who played a pivotal role in ending her 13-year conservatorship last year. Asghari filed for divorce on August 16, citing “irreconcilable differences” and listing July 28, 2023, as the date of separation. He has requested spousal support and attorney’s fees in the court documents.
Following tabloid media reports suggesting financial disputes and threats, a representative for Asghari clarified that he holds no negative intentions towards Spears. Asghari’s spokesperson, Brandon Cohen, refuted the claims and emphasized that Sam has always been supportive of Britney and will continue to be so.
