BLACKPINK’s Jennie Goes Solo with New Fashion Label, “OA”

In the wake of BLACKPINK‘s recent contract renewal with YG Entertainment, individual members are fervently pursuing their solo endeavors. Leading the charge is Jennie, who has not only stepped into the world of acting with a role in HBO‘s “The Idol” but has also made a mark in the fashion industry, a realm where K-pop stars are increasingly taking center stage.

Jennie, along with her bandmates, has graced several fashion campaigns, showcasing the influence K-pop icons wield in the style arena. Notably, she made a striking appearance at the September Chanel show in South Korea and recently engaged in a collaboration with Calvin Klein.

The latest development in Jennie’s multifaceted career is the announcement of her newly established label and company, OA. Taking to her Instagram Story, she expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received for both her solo work and BLACKPINK, while shedding light on her exciting journey ahead.

“Hi, this is Jennie. This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I’m so thankful for all the love I’ve received. I’m also excited about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course BLACKPINK. Thank you,” wrote Jennie.

Founded in November 2023, OA has already set its digital footprint with an Instagram page, providing a glimpse into its ethos. The acronym OA stands for ODD ATELIER, emphasizing its mission to “create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected.” A sneak peek at the label’s offerings was shared, featuring black hoodies adorned with the distinctive OA logo.

As BLACKPINK’s members continue to carve out individual paths while reinforcing their collective strength, Jennie’s venture into the entrepreneurial landscape with OA adds an intriguing chapter to the ongoing narrative of K-pop’s global dominance.
