Borahm Lee, known for his work as the producer of Break Science and keyboardist for Pretty Lights Live Band, has finally released his highly anticipated debut solo album, “Echoic Memory.” With an extensive resume that includes touring with music legends such as Kanye West, Lauryn Hill, and Matisyahu, Lee has developed a unique blend of styles and inspirations that he now brings to his own music.
“Echoic Memory” presents a raw and emotional side of Lee that has yet to be fully explored. Listeners will hear elements of introspection throughout the album, allowing Lee to speak through hip-hop, jazz, soul, electronica, and more. The album features only one guest appearance, by Chicago rapper ProbCause, who adds his signature silky smooth rap style to an already serene production.
Lee explains that the album is a reflection of his personal experiences and memories, filtered through time, thought, and emotion. “While putting together this first solo album, I chose songs I made over the last few years that left an imprint on me, some of which I couldn’t quite put my finger on,” Lee says. “I knew there was a deeper communion between this music and my life experiences, which I understood needed to be shared so that the story could continue or find stillness.”
Lee’s talent and musicianship have never been in question, and “Echoic Memory” serves as a testament to his artistry. The album is a fusion of genres and styles, showcasing Lee’s versatility and creativity. Fans can expect a musical journey that is both introspective and thought-provoking. “Echoic Memory” is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates innovative and soulful music.
