LISA from BLACKPINK is set to perform at the 2024 Global Citizen Festival, marking her debut as a solo artist at this major event. This year’s festival, which also features big names like Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro, will see LISA co-headlining.
This announcement comes right after LISA achieved her first hit “Rockstar”. The song gained initial traction last month when LISA created her TikTok account, quickly setting a new Guinness World Record by amassing 1 million followers in just over two hours—a testament to her massive influence and popularity.
Katie Hill, the senior VP and head of music, entertainment, and artist relations at Global Citizen, expressed excitement about collaborating with LISA. She highlighted LISA’s dynamic stage presence and her commitment to addressing significant global issues through her expansive reach.
The festival is scheduled for September 28 on the Great Lawn at Central Park, New York, and will be hosted by Hugh Jackman, a Global Citizen Ambassador. Notable figures like Jane Goodall and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who is curating the festival, will also make appearances.
The event aligns with the UN General Assembly in New York, aiming to promote equality and support for marginalized communities worldwide. It calls on leaders and organizations to enhance basic services such as healthcare, education, and food security.
