On Monday, July 8, Taylor Swift unveiled an acoustic version of her song “Fortnight” from The Tortured Poets Department, featuring Post Malone. This softer rendition from Swift’s latest No. 1 album showcases both artists trading vocals over a delicate, unplugged arrangement. The release includes the original album version and a bubbling remix by New York indie duo Cults. In an Instagram post on Tuesday morning, July 9, the band shared the single’s cover image, which features Taylor Swift sporting Posty’s signature face tattoos, and thanked her for involving them in her expansive musical world.
The remix and acoustic versions are the newest additions to the double album, which has been available in various physical formats, including multiple CD, vinyl, cassette, and deluxe editions.
Taylor Swift recently added another achievement to her extensive list of records when TTPD reached its 11th consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as of July 13. This ties the album with her previous records, 1989 and Fearless, for the longest-running No. 1 albums. TTPD is also the first album by a female artist to stay 11 weeks in a row at No. 1 since the Whitney Houston-led The Bodyguard soundtrack held the spot for 13 consecutive weeks from December 1992 to March 1993.
