Jennifer Lopez Celebrates Anniversary of 2021 Hit ‘Cambia El Paso’

When Jennifer Lopez released “Cambia El Paso” with Rauw Alejandro in 2021, she was moving past a difficult breakup with Alex Rodriguez. In an interview, she said the song, which means “change the step,” symbolized moving on and finding happiness. “I’ve never been better,” Lopez shared. “I’ve reached a point where I’m great on my own, and amazing things are happening.”

At that time, Lopez had rekindled her romance with Ben Affleck, and they married in July 2022. Recently, rumors of marital issues have surfaced, but neither has commented publicly.

Fans were curious when Lopez reposted a “Cambia El Paso” video snippet on Sunday, marking its July 5, 2021 release anniversary. The clip shows her dancing on the beach in a silver bikini top and jean shorts. Lyrics hint at independence: “Her life is better now without him… You don’t need anyone to be well.”

On June 27, Lopez also celebrated the 10th anniversary of her album A.K.A. Observers noted she spent the Fourth of July weekend in New York while Affleck was in Los Angeles. The last time she featured Affleck on Instagram was in March, promoting her documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

Lopez told Lowe in 2021 that “Cambia” is about embracing change and finding joy through dancing, which represents freedom and happiness for her.
