Zendaya Steps Up to Co-Chair 2024 Met Gala

Zendaya, the star of “Euphoria,” is gearing up to co-chair the highly anticipated 2024 Met Gala in New York on May 6, alongside her stylist Law Roach.

“We have some ideas,” she revealed to E! News’ Will Marfuggi at the Challengers premiere in Los Angeles on April 16. “It felt like the right time to try to go back to the Met.”

Zendaya, absent from the Met Gala scene since her memorable Cinderella moment five years ago, expressed that this year’s event holds special significance for her. Co-hosting this prestigious affair is an honor she values.

“I believe the boys are going to go,” she hinted about her Challengers co-stars. “And I know that Jonathan [Anderson], who is our incredible costume designer, is also hosting, so it felt like the right time.”

Joining Zendaya as co-chairs for the charity gala are Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, and Jennifer Lopez, with Jonathan Anderson, Loewe’s creative director, serving as an honorary chair alongside TikTok CEO Shou Chew. The attendees are left in suspense as to whether Zendaya’s Challengers co-stars Josh O’Connor and Mike Faist will grace the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the “Garden of Time”-themed event.

For Zendaya, selecting the perfect red carpet attire is all about exuding confidence.

“Law and I, obviously we’ve been working together for many years and we’ve been doing themed dressing since Greatest Showman,” she explained to E!. “It’s so nice to be able to experiment with fashion.”

In line with her latest project, Zendaya has been serving tennis-inspired looks for Challengers, which premieres on April 26.

At the premiere, Zendaya once again captivated attention with her impeccable style, donning a black lacy top and billowing pink skirt for a ballerina-inspired ensemble. As she shared with E!, “I’ve really enjoyed a lot of these.”
