It’s been a whirlwind of rumors and speculations since July when news broke that Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez were possibly heading towards divorce. While neither of them had publicly confirmed the split, a new report from TMZ brings clarity to the situation. It appears that Ariana and Dalton have now officially filed for divorce.
According to TMZ, Ariana Grande’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, submitted the divorce paperwork on September 18, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce. Shortly after, Dalton Gomez filed his suit, indicating that the timing of their filings was coordinated between the two. Sources close to the situation revealed to TMZ that Ariana Grande and Dalton had resolved their issues privately before taking the matter to the courthouse, and it’s expected that Ariana will provide financial support to Dalton, effectively concluding the proceedings.
Fortunately, it seems that the couple had a prenuptial agreement in place, and they listed their date of separation as February 20, 2023. As for the delay between their separation and the official filings, TMZ notes that “a source with direct knowledge tells us the two took their time to iron out details and settle. Our source says there are no hard feelings … ‘they’ve been really caring and respectful of one another every step of this process.'”
It’s worth noting that shortly after the initial reports of their separation this summer, there were rumors that Ariana had started dating her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater.
