Platinum-selling singer-songwriter, Stalking Gia, drops the Alt-Pop single “Happy Birthday!” that stands out with its compelling vocals and sarcastic lyrics. The NY-based artist, who generated more than 20 million streams, brings her own take to the 90s Grunge-Pop scene.
“Happy Birthday!” is an indie-pop track that integrates different styles together. Stalking Gia’s breathtaking vocals along with the infectious beats takes the song to a whole new level. The bittersweet single addresses toxic relationships and talks about situations where it seems impossible to love oneself.
Gia celebrates all the “bad” things in her life, singing, “Happy birthday everybody love you/ Good morning I feel like hell, it’s boring/ I blame myself, wish i could wish you away/ Bad timing all the time/ Flatlining I feel like hell/ I carry every mistake/ Everything is change, its feel like yesterday it was me and celebrate/ You can just do what you like, it’s your party it’s your life so true.”
Although there’s a lot of disdain and contempt in the lyrics, the background music in “Happy Birthday!” lights up the mood and locks in the audience with its allure and dark charm. Stalking Gia can be proud of herself for adding such an eccentric song to her repertoire.
