What did you want to convey to your listeners with your magnificent new album The Holy Awakening?
The Holy Awakening is packed with a broad array of messages that teaches us how to live amongst each other through grace, faith, and love. Themes that bring out hope in humanity that requires a great amount of effort for change which ultimately can create change in the world.
Which song is your favorite from your new album and why?
It is always a difficult question to answer when it comes to writing masterpieces because they are all beautiful songs. However, one of my most stand out songs on the album is “Jesus You Are” a very strong and powerful lyric which has a great amount of connection to me because of the struggle and battle I faced in my human experience years ago.
What inspired you to record “Why Don’t We Serve Him?” and how would you describe it, both in terms of message and style?
The inspiration for writing Why Don’t We Serve Him? Is greatly moving and touching, and has a great amount of sentimental value to me in my experiences. Having gratitude to God for giving his son, which leads a life in human form amongst humanity teaching us all the key elements that requires mankind to inherit the Kingdom of God. Written with a reflective mood, a very soft pop infused style with drum, symbol and other instrumentals.
Was there a triggering moment in your life that made you become an artist? How did it all start?
The triggering moment which led to my musical journey is somewhat very painful to express in an interview, but yes, the death of my daughter, and loss of my mother to cancer? Was what really got me writing. Somehow, God came to me at my lowest point when he saw how much I had to endure.
Besides music, do you have other passions? If yes, tell us more about them.
Yes certainly, I have an innate ability to do just about anything I set my mind to. From a very young age, I have been involved in the business with my mom, so she has left a mark on me. She has also taught me how to bake, and she was a very good cook. Being in school I was involved in many clubs and activities which has certainly helped me to become the person I am today. I do believe in justice and humanity, and the hope that people can live a life that is the better version of themselves, but it takes effort. So, it’s my hope to own my own restaurant someday. I have recently started developing a project in support of the underprivileged youths in the community. It is my prayer that I will be able to raise all the funds to help make this goal a reality for the youths.
What’s next for Hazeline Taffe in 2022, any upcoming plans you would like to share with our audience?
