Oasis to Cancel Over 50,000 Resold Tickets

Oasis is preparing to invalidate more than 50,000 tickets sold through secondary ticketing websites for their highly anticipated UK reunion tour in 2025. This decision comes after reports indicated that approximately four percent of the total tickets sold ended up on these resale platforms, despite the band’s efforts to prevent scalping. The original ticket sale, which took place in August, saw an overwhelming response, with 1.4 million tickets available and over 10 million fans from 158 countries vying for a chance to secure a spot at the concerts.

The promoters of the tour, Live Nation and SJM, have confirmed that they will begin canceling these resold tickets shortly. Once canceled, these tickets will be made available again through Ticketmaster at their original face value, providing an opportunity for fans who missed out on the initial sale to purchase them at a fair price.

Oasis, comprising brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, had previously issued warnings to fans regarding the resale of tickets at inflated prices. The band’s strategy includes a partnership with the resale platform Twickets, aimed at ensuring that tickets are not sold for profit on unauthorized sites. This move reflects a broader trend in the music industry to combat ticket scalping and make live events more accessible to genuine fans.

Fans who believe they have been incorrectly affected by the ticket cancellations will have the option to report their cases for review, ensuring a level of transparency in the process. The band’s commitment to fair ticket distribution highlights their desire to maintain a close connection with their fanbase as they prepare for their return to the stage.

As excitement builds for the reunion tour, fans are left speculating about the lineup and the setlist, making this announcement even more significant. Oasis’s return has generated considerable buzz, and the decision to cancel scalped tickets aims to ensure that dedicated fans can enjoy the experience without being sidelined by profiteers.
