Keira Knightley Adored Her Chanel Show Outfit So Much She’d Wear It to Her Wedding

Chanel’s couture show in Paris is always a prime spot for celebrity sightings. This week, the French fashion house unveiled its latest collection, and Hollywood stars flocked to the event. Front-row attendees included Michelle Williams, Kerry Washington, and Keira Knightley. “It’s always enchanting and romantic, especially being in the Opera at Paris’s Palais Garnier,” told Knightley. She also shared her favorite activities in the City of Light. “I always visit my favorite restaurant and the Hemingway Bar!”

Knightley, who recently starred in Boston Strangler, glimpse into her day at the Chanel show—from getting ready to watching the runway. At her hotel, Knightley slipped into a stunning white Chanel dress with sheer details at the neckline and sleeves. “I love this dress; it was perfect for the ballet and the opera,” says Knightley. “It’s comfortable, has pockets, and moves beautifully. I could get married in it again!” (She wed husband James Righton in 2013, also wearing Chanel couture.) Knightley is a longtime Chanel muse, having worn many of their designs over the years. Her all-time favorite remains a Karl Lagerfeld-era dress, which she wore to the Venice premiere of Atonement in 2007. “There was an amazing white lace dress with pink details Karl designed,” she recalls. “I loved it and it was a very special moment.”

At the Palais Garnier, Knightley was impressed by the new collection’s craftsmanship and luxury. “I loved the capes, the purple tweed suit, and the look with the white shirt and gold skirt with intricate embroideries—the way it caught the light was beautiful,” says Knightley. “There were also amazing details like tassels on a suit; they moved like dancers.”

Although attending the couture show was a wonderful experience, Knightley plans to focus on family and friends next. “I’ll be taking some time off as I just finished Black Dove with Ben Whishaw, which comes out on December 24. I start a new project in September.” Until then, she’ll be enjoying relaxed summer fashion. But don’t expect couture—she’ll be wearing pieces that are “kid-friendly. [I’ll be] doing children’s activities this summer!”
