Gracie Abrams, a beloved figure among Swifties, has teamed up with Taylor Swift for the new single “Us,” featured on Gracie Abrams‘ latest album, “The Secret Of Us.” This song is one of the 13 tracks on her sophomore studio album, which was released at midnight.
Abrams, who gained popularity as an opening act for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour, has now collaborated with Swift on this anthemic folk-pop track. Co-written by Abrams and Swift, “Us” showcases the duo’s songwriting talents, with additional musical input from producer Aaron Dessner of The National.
“Us” stands out with its polished pop production and unmistakable touch of Swift’s artistry. The song features heartfelt lyrics where Abrams and Swift sing, “I know you know/ It felt like somethin’ old / It felt like somethin’ holy, like souls bleedin’ / So, it fеlt like what I’ve known/ You’re twеnty-nine years old / So how can you be cold when I open my home?”
Aaron Dessner, who watched the collaboration unfold, shared his excitement, saying, “It was just really fun to watch the chemistry of Gracie and Taylor bouncing off each other. Gracie was in total awe of how Taylor records and produces her vocals.”
Abrams, 24, spent her summer opening for Swift and will join select dates of The Eras Tour in North America later this fall. She’s also set to embark on her headlining tour across the United States, starting September 5 in Portland.
