Anitta, the unstoppable force in the world of music, has once again ignited the scene with the release of the sizzling music video for her latest single, “Casi Casi.” This track serves as the second installment from her three-song EP, “Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story,” released on August 17 through Republic Records/Universal Music Latin Entertainment.
Directed by Ricardo Souza, the visually captivating video accompanies the Brazilian funk sensation’s pulsating new single. In the video, Anitta transforms into an X-rated receptionist at a brothel where a captivating array of characters make their appearances. The Brazillian funk beats serve as the backdrop for Anitta’s vibrant vocal delivery, as she seamlessly navigates between English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Describing the EP, Anitta shared her excitement about delving into the carioca funk genre. “The rhythm that raised me and is part of the culture from where I was born,” she stated. The visuals, inspired by her experiences in the favelas (working-class neighborhoods in Brazil), aim to celebrate her roots. Anitta took pride in involving both international and Brazilian talents in the project, highlighting the essence of collaboration and cultural representation.
Anitta offered a glimpse into the broader context of the project, indicating that the videos are part of a trilogy. She encouraged fans to watch all three videos to truly grasp the creative outcome. The music videos, with their captivating visuals and playful colors, form a cohesive narrative that extends beyond individual releases.
“Funk Rave,” the EP’s lead single, debuted alongside a vibrant music video also set in Brazil. The trilogy will conclude with “Used To Be,” accompanied by its matching music video, slated for release on August 24. While Anitta’s upcoming album remains a mystery, her EP releases have provided a tantalizing taste of what’s to come.
