Karol G has unveiled her latest single titled “S91,” inspired by the popular Bible verse Psalm 91. Accompanied by a powerful music video released on Thursday (July 13), the Colombian singer also took the opportunity to make an important announcement. Directed by Pedro Artola and produced by WeOwnTheCity, the music video perfectly complements the impactful lyrics, featuring Karol running away from a group of people while being protected by a lone panther against a backdrop of chasing wolves. Additionally, Karol G revealed that her forthcoming album, Mañana Sera Bonito (Bichota Season), is coming soon.
A week prior, the “Bichota” singer hinted at her involvement in new projects when she shared a photo with a line from Psalm 91: “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.” A couple of days later, and a month ahead of her Mañana Sera Bonito stadium tour kick-off, she surprised fans with a teaser of the music video, assuring them that she had an announcement “so important that it deserved its own song and music video.” She specifically chose to release it on July 13 because 13 holds spiritual significance as her favorite number. Karol G noted, “Remember I always save the best for last. This video is dedicated to my people, the ones from the start.”
On the eve of the release of “S91,” Karol shared a TikTok video of her mother tearing up while watching the production. In the caption, she expressed the significance of the video, stating that there is no greater feeling for her than knowing her family is proud of her and that her music can elicit such emotional reactions. She also revealed that her mother used to teach them to pray Psalm 91 before leaving home every morning, considering it sacred words of protection. Karol expressed her gratitude to God and life for giving her a supportive family who has believed in her from the beginning and continues to celebrate the beautiful moments they experience together.
