Halsey and Alev Aydin have reportedly ended their relationship after being together for over three years. The 28-year-old singer, known for her hit song “Without Me,” recently filed for primary physical custody of their 1-year-old son, Ender Ridley, according to legal documents obtained by Page Six. Halsey is also requesting joint legal custody and joint expenses with Aydin, who is 40 years old. Despite the legal proceedings, sources reveal that the breakup between the two is amicable, and they plan to co-parent their son together.
An insider explained that the decision to file for custody was primarily for logistical purposes. Halsey intends to bring their son along on her upcoming summer tour, and filing for primary physical custody was necessary to facilitate this arrangement. The insider further emphasized that the split was friendly and that Halsey and Aydin have committed to raising Ender together. The granting of “reasonable visitation” rights to Aydin is described as a formality rather than a contentious issue.
The exact reason behind their separation remains unknown. However, as recently as Valentine’s Day, the former couple seemed to be in a romantic relationship. Halsey had posted a heartfelt Instagram tribute on the holiday, featuring a picture of them kissing and a snapshot of Aydin walking through a garden with Ender. Their relationship began in 2018 when they met while Aydin was working on a biopic about Halsey’s life. Although rumors of their dating circulated in January 2021, it was not until that same month that Halsey surprised fans with a pregnancy announcement. In July, they welcomed their son Ender into the world.
Neither Halsey nor Aydin has publicly addressed the news of their breakup at this time.
