Nigerian superstar ZeXzy makes massive waves with his most recent single “Obsession.” Arousing the global music community with his peculiar and unique style, the Afropop singer-songwriter gains prominence not only in his hometown but also in the US and Canada.
ZeXzy steals away the number one spot on Boomplay Music Charts and dominates the iTunes and Shazam charts with “Obsession.” The sensual track that features Natasha Gartner lures in the listeners to a world of hidden desires with its Afrobeat-Reggae beats and luscious lyrics: “ZeXzy ZeXzy you Gat me falling/ Your body your body’s always calling/ Something inside me/ Always excites me e e/ Oh oh ZeXzy/ Hmmm you Gat me falling.”
The two artists help each other shine better and brighter. Gartner plays the role of the girl in love with ZeXzy, who wrote the song inspired from an incident that had happened during his school days, “I have always wanted to make a track about a girl who’s obsessing over a guy. I had this experience where a girl in my class would stare at me non-stop, and my friends would tell me, ‘look this girl never stops staring at you.’”
“Obsession” has become the ultimate radio hit thanks to ZeXzy’s infectious energy and irresistible charm. With its reflective lyrics and familiar Afro-Pop rhythms, it’s no surprise that the single has been on top of the global charts ever since its release.
