Three years after their last team-up, Post Malone and Roddy Ricch are back on wax together.
Posty premiered his new single “Cooped Up” featuring Roddy on Thursday. During an Apple Music 1 conversation with Zane Lowe, Malone spoke on his fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache, set to be released on June 3, as well as what it was like working with Roddy.
“I’ve been waitin’ so long, now I gotta resurface,” Posty croons on the track’s refrain above a hazy, mellow beat, referencing two years of pandemic life, and the rapper’s relative absence from music as a result. “We ’bout to toast up all that bread that we burnin’ / ‘Cause I’ve been feelin’ cooped up.
“Cooped Up” is the second single Post Malone has shared from his forthcoming album, following “One Right Now” with the Weeknd. Post Malone recently previewed other new songs on Instagram Live, including collaborations with the Kid Laroi, Doja Cat, and Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold.
