Congratulations on the release of your debut single, “Like That”! Can you dive into the inspiration behind the song and what message you hope to convey through it?
Thank you so much! The inspiration behind “Like That” came from really wanting to create something that listeners could related to but also something very lyrically visual. I think everyone loves a song they feel the can personally relate to. Taking this into consideration, I thought so many people have an ex and we all know they’re called an ex for a reason but sometimes we still have that little attachment to them even when we know we shouldn’t! It’s giving “Toxic” Britney Spears (laughs).
The song has been described as capturing the raw emotion of lingering attachment after betrayal. How did you channel your own experiences or emotions into this track?
I channelled my own experiences and emotions into this track by putting myself back in my younger, vulnerable, self’s shoes again. There was a time in my life where I’d often put myself back in situations I knew were not right. I feel like this is all part of growing up and I feel no matter how many times somebody else may tell you somethings wrong, you have to realise that for yourself! And sometimes that means putting yourself in the same situation more than once! Seeing friends go through similar situations helped with the inspiration behind the verses in the track.
Can you share any memorable moments or challenges you faced during the creation of “Like That”?
The overall process of creating “Like That” is such a memorable moment to me! We created the song in a shed in just a few hours. The room was filled with good vibes, laughter and we all had so many incredible ideas to merge together, it was such a fun process! I’ll admit I’m quite a perfectionist when it comes to everything! I always think something can be better. This can be a good thing but it can also be challenging at times too, because I’m my own biggest critic! Majority of the time I end up going with the first idea lol but at least I know I tried other options!
How did the production process for “Like That” unfold? Were there any specific sounds or elements you were keen to incorporate into the track?
For the production process of “Like That” we really wanted to create that fun, energetic Hyper Pop sound that we could see people creating different kinds of videos to whether that be a selfie video singing the lyrics, a car, somebody in the gym, etc. We really wanted to create a track that targets all types of audiences, using sounds that are really diverse but you can put behind all types of content! We were so happy when our incorporated ideas translated onto social media.
Your song has been labeled the “song of the summer” and is creating a buzz on TikTok. How does it feel to see such a positive reception and widespread engagement so early in your career?
It feels absolutely incredible to see such a positive reception and widespread engagement so early in my career! To see how much love people have for the song and see people taking their time to create their own videos using it is just such an amazing feeling, and I am beyond grateful!

You have a background in dance and musical theatre. How have these experiences influenced your music and performance style?
I’ve trained in dance and musical theatre from a young age, and I feel the experiences I’ve had singing, dancing, and overall performing have really given me the confidence to achieve everything I desire and really helped me find myself as an artist and performer! I take so much inspiration from my training, for example, specific dance styles, genres of music that I can incorporate when creating, and different ways to use my voice. I am beyond grateful to have such a supportive family that put me into dance and musical theatre from a young age, these experiences truly shaped me into the person and artist I am today.
You’ve mentioned being inspired by artists like Artemas and Charli XCX. In what ways have their music or careers impacted your approach to creating and performing music?
Artemas and Charli XCX’s bold and unique artistic choices really inspire me, and this conveys clearly in their music. I love the way these artists don’t play it safe when it comes to lyrics and overall production of their tracks, and this is something that I really take inspiration from when creating my own music. I love music that’s bold and stands out!
Can you discuss any specific aspects of your training at Dublin’s top arts school that have been particularly beneficial for your music career?
I trained at Phoenix Performing Arts College and Rising Stars School of Dance in Dublin. I am very grateful for my training experiences in both, as they both taught me discipline and gave me confidence, as well as technique for singing, dancing, and also acting! These things became second nature to me when I finished my training and are now very beneficial for my music career!
What are your goals for the rest of 2024, and how do you plan to build on the success of “Like That”?
I have so many goals for the rest of 2024. I love to aim high!!! One of my main goal for the rest of 2024 as a new artist is to build a BBYx tribe and for the world to start discovering my music and who I am as an artist! I plan to build on the success of “Like That” by continuing to create unique content and to share some new, bold, visual songs that I’ve been working on with everyone! I’m so excited for what’s next…
Are there any upcoming projects, collaborations, or performances that you’re excited about and can share with us?
