In a promising start to the new year, 2024 is shaping up to be a significant chapter in Trevor Noah‘s already illustrious career. The 40-year-old comedian and former host of The Daily Show is set to host the Grammy Awards for the fourth consecutive year, and, adding to the anticipation, he’s also earned a nomination for the coveted Best Comedy Album for his work, “I Wish You Would.”
Noah shared his excitement about the upcoming Grammy Awards on his podcast, “What Now? With Trevor Noah,” revealing, “I’m hosting the Grammys. I’m excited about that, yeah. It’s a lot of fun. I enjoy the Grammys because I get to watch the show in person and then experience and comment on it in person while it’s happening.”
The Grammy Awards ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, holds the potential for Trevor Noah to achieve a rare feat. If successful, he could join the exclusive club of Grammys’ hosts who have won an award on the same night as hosting, a distinction currently held by Kenny Rogers, who achieved the feat in 1980.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, Noah took to Instagram, sharing the announcement in a joint post with his podcast provider, Spotify. His caption read, “I’m so excited! #GRAMMYs baby!🕺🏾Tune in Sunday, February 4th at 8 pm! On @CBSTV! 🔥.”
Noah’s Grammy news comes hot on the heels of the revelation of his new comedy show on Netflix. The comedian announced, “I’m excited to announce that my new comedy special premieres in 8 days! 😀 ‘Where Was I’ will be available worldwide, on December 19th, on @netflix! 🙌🏽🔥.”
This isn’t Noah’s first Grammy rodeo; he received his initial Grammy nod in 2020 for his album “Son of Patricia,” which was nominated in the Best Comedy Album category. Best known for hosting Comedy Central’s The Daily Show from 2015-22, Noah’s accolades include winning an Emmy in 2017 for hosting the spin-off show, “The Daily Show – Behind the Scenes,” voted as the outstanding short-form variety series.
