Janelle Monáe is set to embark on a North American tour in anticipation of her upcoming album, “The Age of Pleasure.” The tour will kick off on August 30 at Seattle’s WAMU Theater and include stops in cities such as Atlanta, Chicago, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and more.
After captivating the East Coast, Monáe will venture back west, performing in cities like Inglewood, San Francisco, Phoenix, and Houston.
“The Age of Pleasure” marks Monáe’s first album in five years, following the success of her Grammy-nominated project, “Dirty Computer,” released in 2018. Monáe recently unveiled “Lipstick Lover,” one of the album’s 14 tracks, along with an official music video directed by Alan Ferguson and herself.
Reflecting on her artistic growth, Monáe expressed, “I hope that people feel that when they listen to the music, that they feel that when they come and, you know, counter with me when I’m around… I definitely have had an opportunity to evolve and grow and to tap into the things that bring me pleasure, the things that perhaps I should rethink and rework,” during an interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe.
