The remix features a brand-new verse from Sivan, who croons, “We’re teetering on the brink of the spiritual / You’re more profound than you realized, it’s a wonder / Wouldn’t you agree?” His lyrics complement the song’s original narratives of passion and connection.
The collaboration is a full-circle moment for the duo, who first crossed paths in 2016 when Lipa opened for Troy Sivan’s Blue Neighbourhood tour. Since then, both artists have risen to international stardom, with Lipa earning three Grammy Awards and Sivan becoming a global pop sensation.
Dua Lipa surprised fans by premiering the remix during her Radical Optimism World Tour stop at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena. In a playful moment, she and Sivan handed a USB drive containing the unreleased track to a lucky fan in the crowd, sparking immediate buzz online. The remix was officially released shortly after, accompanied by a triple vinyl edition of Future Nostalgia.
The release of the “Physical” remix comes during her Radical Optimism tour, which has been met with sold-out shows and critical acclaim. The tour has also seen Dua Lipa paying respect to Australian pop culture, covering iconic tracks like Kylie Minogue’s “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” and AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.” Upcoming performances in Europe and the U.K. include two nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in June.
