SZA has expanded her deluxe album LANA (SOS Deluxe) with four new tracks, bringing the total to 42 songs. The additions include “Joni” featuring Don Toliver, “Take You Down,” a solo version of “Open Arms” titled “Open Arms (Just SZA),” and the highly anticipated song “PSA.”
This expansion coincides with SZA’s recent appearance at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show. Her original album SOS achieved significant chart success, maintaining its position at the top of the Billboard chart for 12 weeks—the longest-running number one R&B/hip-hop album by a female artist since Whitney Houston’s self-titled album.
The new tracks offer fans more of SZA’s soulful R&B sound. However, some fans were disappointed that not all tracks were entirely new; for instance, many hoped for an extended version of “PSA,” which remains brief like its initial release.
SOS itself holds significant records; it spent multiple weeks atop charts as one of the longest-running number-one albums by an R&B/hip-hop artist since Whitney Houston’s self-titled spent 14 weeks in that spot.
This expanded edition is about SZA’s incredible musical range and her dedication to sharing more stories through music. Following her acting debut alongside Keke Palmer in One Of Them Days, SZA is preparing for a stadium tour with Kendrick Lamar later this year.
