Taylor Swift Adjusts Start Times for Wembley Stadium Eras Tour Shows

Fans attending Taylor Swift’s upcoming Eras Tour shows at Wembley Stadium in London will experience slightly earlier entry times than usual. According to the venue, the early entry for the Thursday (August 15) kickoff of the five-night event will begin at 3:30 p.m. local time, with general admission opening at 4 p.m. and the show commencing at 4:55 p.m.; all of these times have been moved up by 15 minutes. There are also speculations in the English press that Swift might begin her performance earlier than the standard 7:25 p.m. start time. These updated times will be in effect for the August 19 and August 20 shows, while on Friday (August 16) and Saturday (August 17), early entry will start at 3:45 p.m., general admission at 4:15 p.m., and the show is scheduled to start at 5:10 p.m. As of now, Swift’s spokesperson has not commented on the changes.

Supporting acts for these sold-out shows, which mark the end of Swift’s European leg of the tour, include Raye, Holly Humberstone, Paramore, and Suki Waterhouse.

This announcement comes a week after officials in Vienna thwarted what they described as a terror plot aimed at disrupting Swift’s tour during her planned three-night stay at Vienna’s Ernst Happel Stadium from August 8-10. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, including a 19-year-old main suspect who allegedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State terror group and admitted to planning an attack using homemade explosives and knives. Another teenager and a third individual were also taken into custody. Despite the threat, Swift’s fans, known as “Swifties,” gathered in the streets of Vienna to sing her songs and celebrate after the shows were canceled. Following the arrests, London officials assured fans that the Vienna incident would not affect the UK shows.

Throughout the European tour, viral videos have captured the phenomenon of unticketed fans gathering in large numbers outside venues, with some 40,000 people reportedly gathering in Munich last month. However, in light of the Vienna threat, Wembley Stadium has strongly discouraged such gatherings. The venue emphasized that, due to its location in a residential area, only fans with tickets or those visiting the merchandise stores should be in the vicinity, to avoid disruptions to local businesses and residents. The stadium also stated that no one is allowed to stand outside the entrances or on the Olympic Steps at the front of the stadium, and any unticketed individuals will be asked to move along.
