Kelly Clarkson’s Covers Are Now Streaming on SiriusXM

Kelly Clarkson has made her mark by turning covers into a highlight of her daytime talk show. From tackling Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees” and Tony Bennett’s “(I Left My Heart) In San Francisco” to taking on Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away” and The Last Dinner Party’s “Nothing Matters,” Clarkson’s fans eagerly tune in each day to see what unexpected song she’ll perform next. Now, those special renditions are available on her SiriusXM channel, Kelly Clarkson Connection.

The singer announced on Thursday (August 8) that listeners can now enjoy her unique covers, complete with stories about why she chose each song and feedback from the original artists. “I’m thrilled to share the Kellyokes because it’s the one thing I get asked about the most, ‘Can you just, like, put them all out?’” Clarkson said in an audio clip shared on Instagram. She added that the covers have been mixed and mastered specifically for her satellite channel. “Kelly Clarkson Connection was the perfect place to release them. It’s my station, so why not let my fans enjoy them here?”

During a special five-hour Kellyoke segment on Wednesday, Clarkson expressed her admiration for Ariana Grande, saying, “Oh my gosh, y’all, ‘Seven Rings.’ This is one of my favorite Kellyokes, and I’ll tell you why. After it aired, Ariana texted me, and it was so sweet! She was like, ‘Oh my God! That was amazing!’ and I was like, ‘Thank you!’ because I love that song so much, and I love how she incorporated The Sound of Music. It was so clever. And she’s really funny too. I don’t think people realize just how funny and clever she is.”

Clarkson Connection, which launched in November, is a dedicated, year-round channel where Clarkson plays her favorite songs by other artists, shares music that inspires her, and tells the stories behind some of her own hits. The channel also features appearances from members of her live band.
