Katy Perry has shared the sun-soaked visuals for her latest single, “Lifetimes.” Directed by Stillz and produced by Dr. Luke, the video, released on Thursday , captures Perry enjoying an unforgettable vacation in Ibiza, Spain. The pop star is seen spending her day on the beach and later partying until dawn. In the energetic, danceable chorus, she sings, “I know you feel it/ Can you believe it?/ I’m gonna love you ’til the end and then repeat it/ For life/ For life.”
Perry describes “Lifetimes” as a tribute to everlasting love. “The song is about discovering a deep, fulfilling love that lasts a lifetime,” she explained in a press release. “A soulmate can take many forms – it could be a partner, a child, a best friend, or even a pet. For me, it’s my daughter. Every night I ask her, ‘Will you find me in every lifetime?’ She always says yes, and I feel complete. It’s a connection that keeps repeating, lifetime after lifetime.”
Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in August 2020.
The music video also gives fans a sneak peek at the 11-song tracklist for her upcoming album, 143, which includes “Lifetimes” and the lead single, “Woman’s World.” Other tracks on the album are titled “I’m His He’s Mine,” “Crush,” “Nirvana,” “All the Love,” “Truth,” and “Wonder.” There are also hints of collaborations on songs like “Gorgeous,” “Gimme Gimme,” and “Artificial.”
The album 143, which is a code for “I love you,” is set to be released on September 20th through Capitol Records. This will be Perry’s first album since her 2020 release, Smile, which reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200.
