Blackpink’s Lisa has had an eventful few weeks. Fresh off her recent solo release, “Rockstar,” and the exciting news of Blackpink’s upcoming reunion, the K-pop sensation now has another achievement to celebrate. Louis Vuitton has announced that Lisa is the brand’s latest house ambassador, joining the likes of Zendaya and Emma Stone.
“I am thrilled to welcome Lisa as a House Ambassador,” said Nicolas Ghesquière, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director of women’s collections. “She has a bold spirit and charisma that are incredibly appealing. Her creativity in music and fashion is truly remarkable, and it’s an honor to join her on this journey.”
Previously, Lisa (Lalisa Manobal) served as an ambassador for Celine, another brand under the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton umbrella. She was a strong supporter of Hedi Slimane’s work, frequently attending events and even walking in Celine’s women’s winter 2022 show. However, hints of her collaboration with Louis Vuitton began to surface when she attended the brand’s fall/winter 2024 show in March. Following that event, Lisa started regularly wearing Louis Vuitton items, including an “Alma PM” top handle bag from Marc Jacobs’s spring 2001 collection, which featured a collaboration with the late designer Stephen Sprouse. The final clue came with the release of her latest single, “Rockstar,” her first in three years, featuring the lyric, “Tight dress, LV sent it / Oh, Lisa reppin’.”
This is an ideal time for Louis Vuitton to team up with Lalisa. “Rockstar” debuted at number four on the Billboard Global 200 chart, and the music video has already garnered over 122 million views on YouTube. Additionally, it was announced that Blackpink will reunite under YG Entertainment with new music and a world tour planned for 2025.
