Sabrina Carpenter to Reclaim No. 1 Spot on U.K. Charts with “Please Please Please”

Sabrina Carpenter’s hit summer is set to continue as her single “Please Please Please” is predicted to return to the top of the U.K. charts for a seventh non-consecutive week, based on midweek sales and streaming data from the Official Charts Company.

“Please Please Please” follows her previous hit “Espresso,” which held the No. 1 spot for 14 weeks but is now expected to drop from first to ninth place. Last Friday, July 19, Carpenter made history once again by matching Ed Sheeran’s record of spending the most consecutive weeks holding both the top two positions on the chart simultaneously for five weeks.

If the midweek trends hold, Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather” and Chappell Roan’s rising track “Good Luck Babe” will complete the top three. The highest new entry should be Jade from Little Mix with her debut solo single “Angel Of My Dreams,” which is currently No. 5.

Jesy Nelson, another Little Mix member, holds the record for the highest-charting solo effort from the group with her song “Boyz” featuring Nicki Minaj, debuting and peaking at No. 4. Jade’s “Angel” will need to maintain its momentum to surpass this.

BTS’ JIMIN is also aiming for a top 10 debut with “Who,” currently sitting at No. 8. His performance of the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday, July 22, should help boost its position.

The final standings will be revealed when the Official U.K. Charts are published on Friday, July 26.
