Cardi B’s 2024 Lookbook: Unwinding, Globetrotting, and Summer Vibes—Album Not Included

Cardi B has unveiled her plans for the remainder of the year, which involve plenty of relaxation, possibly some beach getaways, but unfortunately, no release of her highly anticipated second album.

This news surfaced on Monday (May 14) in a now-removed reply to a comment on X, where a user suggested she should reduce her presence on social media, labeling her interactions with fans as “unappreciated.”

In a reply that has since been deleted (but captured by HipHopDX), Cardi B concurred with a critic, expressing, “Exactly, and I always remind myself… yet I keep slipping back into interacting and it ends up backfiring.” She then shared some disheartening news with her fans, the Bardigang. “Regardless, there’s NO album coming out this year. I just don’t care. I’m dedicating this year to relaxation, fulfilling my commitments to a few features, traveling, and enjoying my summer.”

The news was particularly bitter given that in April, during the sixth anniversary of her groundbreaking debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” Cardi teased her long-awaited second album. Celebrating the album that launched at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and won Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammys, she shared, “6 years ago I released my first album and it shattered records—wow!! At the time, I hinted that my next one would drop this year, and it’s going to really surprise everyone with how different it is. I’m truly excited.”

For the time being, however, Cardi’s fans will need to satisfy their craving for new music with her recent standalone tracks, “Enough (Miami)” and her collaboration with Shakira, “Puntería,” which is the newest release from Shakira’s album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.”
