DC Makes His 2024 Debut with “The Curb” Ft. Blanco

South London rapper DC is back with a vengeance. He dropped his first single of 2024, “The Curb,” featuring rising star Blanco.

This high-energy track showcases DC‘s signature blend of rap, alternative rap, and grime, a sound that’s been turning heads across the globe. “The Curb” is just the first taste of what’s to come from DC this year, with a string of releases leading up to a highly anticipated new project.

“I feel like with the Curb it came out exactly how I wanted it to you know. From the Blanco feature to the feel and vibe of the tune. I wanted something with a bit of tempo to it, I speak about the grime influences I’ve had coming up and this track was one of those ones where I wanted to tap into that. Even down to the back and forth between me and Blanco, it was all an ode to that influence.”

DC‘s journey to the top has been anything but ordinary. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, he moved to South London with his family at a young age. While his initial dream was to become a footballer, fate had other plans. After a brief stint at university, DC rediscovered his passion for music, and the rest is history. His early freestyle, “Gleamin’,” went viral, racking up over half a million views on YouTube and solidifying his place as a rising star in the UK rap scene.

With acclaimed releases like his debut EP In The Loop and tracks like “The Latest” (over 18 million streams!), DC has garnered a loyal following and critical praise from tastemakers like Wonderland, CLASH, and DJ Semtex. Industry heavyweights like J Hus and KwolleM have also co-signed his talent, and radio stations like BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, and Rinse FM are all on board.

DC isn’t just dominating the UK scene. Recent performances alongside Cristale and Unknown T in Paris showcase his expanding global reach. His captivating live shows and unique storytelling ability are captivating audiences worldwide, and there’s no doubt he’s poised for major success.

With a new project featuring exciting collaborations on the horizon, DC is ready to take his music to the next level.  “I represent just being true to yourself,” he says, “being honest at all times — especially with yourself — being self-aware of myself, and my environment. That way, you can never get lost on your journey.” With his dedication, talent, and undeniable charisma, DC is a name you won’t want to forget.
