Rachel Sennott is set to take on a multi-faceted role in her latest venture with HBO, as she gears up to star in, write, and executive-produce her own comedy series for the network.
The yet-to-be-titled series will revolve around a close-knit friend group navigating the complexities of reunion amidst evolving dynamics shaped by time, ambition, and new relationships.
According to Deadline, Sennott has enlisted the talents of Emma Barrie and Aida Rodgers, both known for their work on HBO’s ‘Barry’, to assist in production.
This collaboration marks Sennott’s continued partnership with HBO, following her debut TV acting role in an episode of the network’s comedy-drama ‘High Maintenance’. More recently, she appeared in ‘The Idol’.
Sennott’s journey with HBO began shortly after graduating from the Tisch School of the Arts in 2017. She starred in the short film adaptation of ‘Shiva Baby’, a role she reprised and executive produced for the 2020 feature film adaptation. Her credits also include the comedy horror ‘Bodies, Bodies, Bodies’, and the teen comedy ‘Bottoms’, which she co-wrote and executive produced.
Additionally, Sennott collaborated with her ‘Bottoms’ co-star Ayo Edebiri for Comedy Central’s ‘Ayo and Rachel Are Single’ and ‘Speak Up’ in 2020. She further showcased her talents as a series regular on the 2021 ABC comedy series ‘Call Your Mother’.
