Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion Unite for Epic “Savage (Remix)” Performance

In a dazzling homecoming event titled ‘Renaissance,’ Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion took the stage together on September 23, delivering a long-awaited live performance of their 2020 collaboration, ‘Savage (Remix).’ The electrifying moment unfolded at the NRG Stadium in Houston, leaving fans in awe, and you can catch a glimpse of the epic performance in the footage below.

Before their highly-anticipated duet, Beyoncé shared a heartfelt message with Megan, saying, “I love you, Queen,” to which the rapper enthusiastically responded, “I love you, Beyoncé.” It was a moment of mutual admiration that echoed throughout the stadium.

Megan Thee Stallion had previously attended Beyoncé’s tour as a devoted fan, making an appearance at one of the shows in Paris earlier this year, showcasing her deep respect and admiration for the Houston icon.

Notably, there had been some unexpected scheduling conflicts, as indicated by a statement from the Global Citizen Festival’s official X/Twitter account, which read, “Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be available to perform at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival.” Nevertheless, their impromptu reunion at ‘Renaissance’ was a testament to the enduring power of their collaboration.

Megan Thee Stallion also recently shared a fun tidbit about their ‘Savage (Remix)’ collaboration, revealing that the remixed version featured more explicit lyrics initially, which were then toned down at Beyoncé’s request.

“Beyoncé was like, ‘Could you please make your verse, like, a little bit cleaner?’” Megan recounted. “I went in my living room and I recorded it right then. Beyoncé didn’t have to tell me twice, I sent that verse right back! But it was amazing – like, everybody knows that I am obsessed with Beyoncé, so when I got to collab, like, being from Houston with her, I was just appreciative. Like when I saw people dancing to the song, vibing to it, loving it – how many famous people [were] dancing to the song – I was like, ‘Oh my God, y’all know me.’”
