Among the distinguished visitors at the BAFTA Awards tonight in London’s Royal Festival Hall were the Prince and Princess of Wales. They walked the red carpet with the A-list candidates. The two frequently attend the yearly awards show, but this is their first visit in the last three years and their first since receiving their new titles.
With a flowing white one-shoulder dress by one of her favorite designers, Alexander McQueen, Kate went for a monochromatic ensemble for the evening. She added an extended sleeve design that flowed gracefully behind her as she walked to the dress, which was a slightly altered version of the one she wore in 2019.
Next, the accessories took center stage. She completed the look with a coordinating black clutch purse and a striking pair of black opera gloves, one of the greatest red carpet trends this season. Prince William and his wife looked sharp in matching black tuxes and bow ties.
In addition, Kate chose some statement-making gold flower earrings, which is a departure from the royal’s usual jewelry choices. Her makeup was also classic, with a soft smoky eye and a beautiful complexion. She left her hair loose and in delicate waves.
The two were there at the star-studded celebration of the previous year in cinema, which included BAFTA nominees and presenters Cate Blanchett, Viola Davis, Ana de Armas, Anya Taylor Joy, and Julianne Moore (catch up on all the action from the red carpet, here).
Since 2010, Prince William has served as the BAFTA’s president. He frequently participates in events that support the British film industry.
