Talking on the video and single, Lojay shares, “I made Pioneer at an exceptionally critical period in my life, a time of self-revelation. Assuming I say, It’s very private. My life has definitely changed somewhat recently and notoriety has made sinking into a relationship considerably more troublesome, so I diverted that into a discussion with the mic.
“I wanted to try something sonically that was different from anything I’ve done previously and it just felt like the perfect song to set the tone for the upcoming project. When we were brainstorming around the video, Seyi (UAX) and I were particular about stage sets and dark tones. He introduced a dystopian feel to it which further set the counterclockwise feel of this phase of Lojay as an artist compared to my previous work.”
Initially taken from his joint EP with uber maker Sarz named LV N ATTN, which additionally included Nigerian hotshot WizKid, the task slung Lojay into standard awareness. Following its delivery, Lojay has proceeded to deliver work with any semblance of Ayra Starr, Zlatan and DJ Neptune.
