Brad Pitt takes on a new role that’s sure to rev up excitement among fans and movie buffs alike. The first trailer for the adrenaline-pumping film F1 premiered during the Formula 1 British Grand Prix on Sunday, July 7.
In F1, Pitt, 60, portrays a former racing driver who stages a dramatic comeback in Formula 1 with APXGP, a fictional team on the grid. Alongside Damson Idris, who plays his teammate, they face off against the giants of the sport in intense Grand Prix competitions.
Filmed against the backdrop of this year’s Grand Prix races, which kicked off in March, the movie features appearances by 10 Formula 1 teams and their drivers, adding an authentic touch to the cinematic experience.
Joining Pitt and Idris in the cast are Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for his work on 2022’s Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise, F1 promises to deliver gripping action on and off the track.
Producing alongside Pitt are industry heavyweights Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner. Notably, seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton also serves as a producer through his production company, Dawn Apollo Films.
In a revealing interview with GQ earlier this year, Hamilton, 39, shared his deep admiration for Top Gun and his past aspirations to join the sequel, Top Gun: Maverick. Despite missing out on a role due to scheduling conflicts, Hamilton’s involvement in F1 underscores his passion for combining motorsport with the silver screen.
As anticipation builds for its release, F1 promises to be a thrilling ride for audiences, blending Pitt’s star power with the heart-pounding drama of Formula 1 racing.
